What it is that makes this upcoming Windows version so special. Strictly speaking, it's just a fine-tuned versions of Windows Vista, a fact that should make people who are already on the fence about Vista a little nervous. But in use, Windows 7 is Vista done right. It's smaller, faster, lighter, and prettier than Vista. It's much less annoying, with much fewer UAC pop-ups, yes, but also fewer other interruptions, thanks to an effort to keep tray notifications under strict control. It will run on systems as unimpressive as a netbook--yes, yes, it really will--and scale up to systems with 256 processor cores. What makes 7 so interesting, ultimately, is the surface stuff, though. It's just nicer looking. And it works better, thanks to hundreds of little UI tweaks that just delight people. Again and again at PDC, I watched as jaded and weary developers moused around with Windows 7: As they discovered a little feature, like Aero Snaps, where dragged windows latch onto to the edges of screens, or the pop-ups on the new taskbar, their faces would just light up with instant smiles.

I've tested the system recently it works perfectly! A million times better than vista... It's our future... Unfortunately, I had to switch back to vista only because it still doesn't support SPTD ... Is there any solution to it?

I'd not call it a fine-tuned Vista. Although, I'd say that they took everything bad about vista, threw it away - and added lots of impressive stuff!

Windows 7 is AWESOME! It just works..and ROCKS!! This is the best OS MS has ever done. It is the first time in my life I can say that Microsoft has an OS that is truly, really, deeply BETTER than anything Apple has produced. I am impressed. A lot!

I am not registered, but I do brows windows sites now and then to see if I am missing something. Snapping windows, fancy animated taskbars, 256 processors (linux can have up to 1024), managed notifications etc. I had all this more than 5 years ago already. There is nothing to make me move to windows or the new windows 7 yet (I downloaded recently and played for a while). I do like the themes it looks really nice, but I can make desktop look identical. I can say the same about mac. If you have time, play with some other OS's. Keep an 'OPEN' mind.

that said win7 is indeed the best windows i have used yet.. it just feels right.. but what will it cost ?
i do wonder

Windows 7 is fantastic. It almost runs itself. Tried Mac OS and Linux. Honestly Macs are for people who want their computer to tell them what to do. Linux is truly customizable but is not easy to use and crashes and hangs constantly on many of the different packages that i have tried. They also do not offer software that is really serious for audio and video. Windows 7 is the only one that offers everything you want and more. And software...I don't think I really need to say more.

Will you people believe if i say i ran Windows 7 on 256 MB of RAM on an Intel P4 Machine with onboard ATi Radeon Xpress 200 chipset of 64 MB?

Yeah, its truly Amazing... rite? but the very great amazing part is that, i got Aero Effects in 256 MB of RAM with the same configuration..

lol, nothing more to say.. i'm well impressed and is waiting for Oct 22. I'll be giving money to MS for nice jobs :-)

Everytime from now we can kick the butts of OpenSource kliddies.

HELL to OpenSource and Linux, HAIL to Microsoft and Windows!
